Risk Data and Reporting Advisor – up to €450 per day 


My Client is a globally recognized financial organization that provides financial services and products to consumers, corporations and many other institutions internationally. They are currently seeking a Risk Data and Reporting Advisor to join a team based in Dublin 2 on an initial 11-month contract.


You will play a key Project Analyst role in documenting business requirements, developing and managing data governance elements of the implementations within the team, supporting the Risk Model ETL Developers and facilitating the implementation of the bank’s significant projects. You will will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and comprehensiveness of data used at various levels and for driving change where required. 


Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Liaise closely with the subject matter experts in Risk, Finance and DMI to understand Credit & Treasury Risk and Finance reporting requirements from a data perspective
  • In co-operation with subject matter experts, prepare and specify Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), and review and fine-tune Functional Specification Documents (FSDs) in respect of any new projects or proposed changes
  • Act as the data advisor with respect to data used for reporting and analysis, identifying downstream impacts of change and documenting E2E solutions
  • Co-ordinate the scheduling of testing; working with the team and the business stakeholders to plan timelines and resources
  • Build strong and effective relationships with internal stakeholders (Risk, IT, DMI, Finance, etc.) to establish best practice and drive improvements as opportunities are identified
  • Collaborate with ETL Developers as part of a multidisciplinary team by bringing business knowledge into initiatives; Support Developers in analysing and prioritising deliveries and releases.
  • Contribute to our in-house Confluence site, ensuring process documentation remains current and accurate
  • Participate and contribute to audits and inspections, as required
  • Identify areas for improvement to assist the organisation in striving for best practice in data management and reporting
  • Understand and recognise the end-to-end benefits of the high quality data analysis activities
  • Implement Data Governance , be responsible for the documentation of data lineage, data mapping and the compilation of a data dictionary for new and existing Risk reporting –aligning to programmes, ensuring adherence to BCBS 239 standards

Knowledge, Education & Experience:

  • 5 + years’ experience in data governance or data-oriented role, preferably in the Financial Services Sector
  • Relevant Business, Mathematical or Technical Degree
  • Strong experience in SQL
  • Experience in self-serve analytics tools i.e., Power BI, Tableau an advantage
  • BABOK / DMBOK a plus
  • Excellent negotiation and facilitation skills
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to manage and monitor the life cycle of initiatives; conducting thorough planning and follow-up
  • Ability to quickly assimilate new information
  • Can bridge communication between technical and business resources
  • Action and results orientated with a proven commitment to attaining desired goals
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Capable of understanding both the detailed data requirements whilst being able to appreciate commercial implications; Can bridge communication between technical and business resources
  • Comfortable with implementing change and coping with uncertainty in a data centric environment
