IT Support Engineer

 

My Client are looking for an experienced IT Support Engineer to join their team.

 

This role involves providing technical support to end-users and maintaining IT infrastructure, ensuring reliability, security, and performance.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and assistance to end-users for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  • Manage and maintain network services, including DNS, DHCP, and server administration.
  • Administer and troubleshoot Office 365 services and Azure, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Configure and support desktops, laptops, RDP, tablets, and mobile devices.
  • Collaborate with application and system teams to maintain network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN, routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Monitor network performance, identify and resolve issues to minimise downtime.
  • Implement and maintain IT security measures, including antivirus software and firewalls.
  • Develop and maintain documentation of network configurations and troubleshooting guides.
  • Assist in planning and executing IT projects, such as system upgrades and deployments.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices related to IT security, Office 365, and server support.
  • Provide training and guidance to end-users on IT-related topics.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and after-hours support as needed.
  • Resolve tickets within SLA and document troubleshooting steps.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for complex technical issues.
  • Proficiency in DNS, DHCP, Azure, and Office 365 services.
  • Experience with network infrastructure components like routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Excellent communication skills for conveying technical information to non-technical users.
  • Knowledge of network patching, switches, and wireless installations.
  • Strong focus on continuous improvement and personal development.
  • Passion for technology and its application in business.
  • Ability to manage workload, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Certifications in Azure Administration and Server Management.
  • Eligible to work and reside in Ireland.
  • Full-time on-site role, Monday to Friday.
