Director of Engineering
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Engineering to lead and scale our engineering team. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of management experience, preferably in the SaaS industry, and excels in leading people, mentoring managers, and driving technical excellence. This role requires a strong balance of strategic leadership and operational execution to deliver innovative solutions and meet business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop engineering teams, including managers and senior engineers, to achieve their full potential.
- Strategic Vision: Define and drive the engineering roadmap, aligning with the company’s business goals and product strategy.
- Operational Excellence: Implement and refine processes to ensure efficient delivery of high-quality, scalable software.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product, Design, and Operations, to ensure alignment and successful execution.
- Talent Development: Build and maintain a high-performance engineering culture by recruiting, retaining, and nurturing top talent.
- Technology Oversight: Ensure technical decisions align with long-term business needs while maintaining innovation and efficiency.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience managing engineering teams, with at least 5 years leading managers.
- Proven success in a SaaS environment, delivering scalable and reliable software solutions.
- Exceptional leadership skills with a focus on people development, coaching, and mentorship.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle, Agile methodologies, and modern engineering practices.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to inspire and align diverse teams.
- Experience driving initiatives to improve engineering processes, performance, and quality.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in scaling engineering teams in high-growth environments.
- Experience with cloud-based architectures, DevOps practices, and modern tech stacks.
- Familiarity with OKRs or similar frameworks for goal setting and performance tracking.
