The role:
We are looking for an Application Support Engineer to play a key role in delivering technical and administrative support for all trading, operational, and support systems. This is a demanding and highly technical position, that requires strong technical expertise and an ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with infrastructure and software teams to ensure scalability, runtime environment stability.
  • Manage remote server hosts in multiple European locations, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Maintain and oversee batch scheduling environments and monitoring systems for error-free processing.
  • Prioritize and manage internal IT support requests, resolving critical issues promptly and maintaining user satisfaction.
  • Troubleshoot application configurations to minimize downtime and disruptions.
  • Establish and maintain monitoring tools to proactively detect alerts and ensure smooth system changes.
  • Continuously evaluate, improve, and deploy new application versions to stay aligned with industry best practices.
  • Manage project work related to hardware refreshes, environment optimization, and software configurations.

Qualifications

  • 3rd level degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge and desire to develop networked Application Systems
  • Exposure to database environments and Windows (2012, 2019).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, and Windows Batch.
  • Strong IT analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to trace problems through log file analysis and understanding application/systems logic.
  • Experience with batch scheduling systems
  • Familiarity with application monitoring and analytical tools like Splunk and Check_mk.
